Surrender to the Sensation — Stop Trying to Know What Happens
Posted July 07 2026
In this episode I want to talk about something that comes up more than almost anything else in my work, the need to know everything before you arrive.
What will happen? In what order? What comes first? What comes next?
And underneath all of those questions, one question, really. Can you guarantee I won't be surprised?
I understand that need completely. And I also want to talk about what it is costing you. Because it is costing you something significant, and most people don't realise how much they're giving up when they insist on knowing everything in advance.
In this episode I talk about the difference between the questions that come from genuine need and the ones that come from anxiety trying to manage the uncontrollable. About what surrender actually means, and why it is one of the most active, most courageous things a person can do. About what I have learned from watching people finally let go of the map. And about what becomes available on the other side of that letting go.
This is not about giving up control. It is about choosing presence over certainty. And presence, as I have come to know it deeply, is where everything you actually came for actually lives.
